Bloomberg Philanthropies has committed $1 billion to provide free medical school tuition for the majority of students at Johns Hopkins University. This donation follows similar contributions to tuition-free medical schools across the country. The gift will cover the full cost of attendance, including tuition and living expenses, for most medical school students at Johns Hopkins. Students from families earning less than a certain amount will be eligible for the gift. By offering free tuition, the aim is to address the challenges of declining health and declining education. This initiative is not the first of its kind, as other medical schools have also received large donations to offer free tuition.
